In the world of real estate, there’s always something to see. This week, NBA star Jaylen Brown listed his Boston penthouse, a home once owned by TV royalty Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue went up for sale, a Hawaii compound by an AD100 firm hit the market, and a prewar building reimagined as luxury condos opened sales. In this roundup, AD PRO has everything you need to know.

It’s not uncommon for athlete real estate listings to start trade rumors, but in the case of Jaylen Brown’s newly listed penthouse, Celtics fans needn’t worry. Brown’s looking to sell the pad for $4.75 million, but according to USA Today, he owns several other properties in Boston—so his roots are still firmly planted in the Massachusetts capital.

The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom pad is quite industrial chic, with aged brick walls, exposed ductwork, and wooden beams. The living room, dining room, and stainless-steel-heavy kitchen are all located in one wide open space, with square footage left over for a billiard table and arcade game setup. The bedrooms have an abundance of wiggle room too, the primary bedroom in particular: It has two walk-in closets and two regular closets all to itself. In addition to nearly 3,000 square feet of interior space, a spiral staircase connects the unit directly to a private 400-square-foot roof deck.

Douglas Elliman’s George Sarkis holds the listing.

Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue once owned this Connecticut home—now it’s asking $27.5 million

Nowadays Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue are enjoying Manhattan life (one you might envision for the star of the iconic New York–set sitcom That Girl),but in the aughts, the couple was enjoying life up in Connecticut. According to Robb Report, Donahue and Thomas commissioned architectural firm Roger Ferris + Partners to craft a home for them in Westport in 2007, then sold it in 2013. It’s now back on the market for $27.5 million.

The home is a classic shingle style colonial on a grand scale: measuring 11,450 square feet, it boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms on 6.6 acres of land. French doors line many of the rooms on the home’s lower level for easy access to the expansive lawn, which fronts 400 feet of Long Island Sound. The primary suite features wood paneled ceilings, a spacious walk-in closet with built-in window seating, and a sleek bathroom with a soaking tub positioned directly in front of a window with a waterside view.

If the property gets its asking price, or even $2 million below it, the sale will set a new record for most expensive property sold in the Connecticut town, which is currently held by a $25 million residence that sold in 2006. Leslie Clarke at Compass has the listing.

For $4.25 million, an LA home revamped by House of Rolison

It seems like young pop stars have something of an affinity for LA development firm House of Rolison. Back in late 2023, Sabrina Carpenter nabbed a Hollywood Hills home by the firm. Then, in April of this year, Lisa from Blackpink bought a Beverly Hills abode that the firm redesigned. You shouldn’t be surprised if Chappell Roan or Olivia Rodrigo swoop in to swipe this new Studio City listing before anyone else gets the chance.

The three-story home contains four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms, with terraces overlooking the canyon on each level. It’s also an entertainer’s dream, with Querkus custom cabinetry and Viola marble in the kitchen that you’ll want to show off, plus living spaces on either side for crowds to spill into. The primary suite is the true standout, with a lounge area, terrace access, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a double vanity and a massive freestanding soaking tub.

“We aimed to blend the contemporary footprint of the existing home with the natural beauty of Studio City’s landscape,” House of Rolison’s Amanda Leigh and Taylor Hahn tell AD PRO. “By combining minimalist finishes, natural stones and materials, and a focus on indoor-outdoor living, we gave this home the harmony it deserves. Privacy was very important to us, given that the street can be on the busier side at different times in the day. By giving the face of the home a tucked-in feel behind a nine-foot gate, you’re able to have the access of the canyon, with the serenity of a side street.”

Priced at $4.25 million, the listing is held by The Agency’s Farrah Britt.

A Maui compound by an AD100 firm asks $8.8 million

AD100 firm Marmol Radziner has proved their ability to thoughtfully connect homes to their surroundings time and time again. Composed of three structures with lush native landscape adorning the passages between them, this 2017 build was the firm’s first ever in Hawaii. It’s now on the market for $8.8 million.

Honed lava and cedar define the interior space, creating a sleek yet moody contrast. Ample built-in cabinetry, textured Heath tiles, and other bespoke details combine for a homey, livable air. With a total of 3,766 interior square feet across the property, the main house includes three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. The pool house offers a bedroom, art studio, and office, and the carport structure is topped by a music studio. A saltwater pool and jacuzzi sit in front of the main house, and numerous decks and balconies offer plenty of vantage points from which to take in the views.

The 1.79 acre property is a residential condominium project regime (CPR). The listing is held by Josh Jerman, Liam Ball, and Matt Beall of Hawai’i Life.

Sebastian Zuchowicki unveils a model residence in Manhattan

Photo: William Jess Laird, Styling: Colin King Minimal and urban, the Zuchowicki-designed residence is a model of Manhattan living.

After completing stints at AD100 firms Studio Sofield and Studio Mellone, Sebastian Zuchowicki founded his namesake firm in 2020. It’s been an active four years for the designer with a number of memorable projects, from a West Chelsea residence with a surprisingly chic client-requested Ping-Pong table that doubles as a dining surface to Zuchowicki’s own West Village home, which is also his firm’s offices. This summer, Zuchowicki is checking off another box: his very first model residence.

Inside of Selene, the Midtown East tower designed by Foster + Partners, the nearly 3,000-square-foot unit features a mix of tones and textures, with red, pale pinks, and blue balancing out the neutral tones. Semi-sheer pinch pleat curtains soften the light that flows through the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom unit’s many floor-to-ceiling windows. “We embraced the challenge of transforming a white-box apartment into a layered, collected home,” Zuchowicki tells AD PRO via email. “We used different textures with a mix of vintage, local, and contemporary pieces, which always enhances spaces like these. Our goal was to inspire prospective buyers, helping them envision the potential within the space.”

The apartment is currently listed for $9.9 million by the Corcoran Sunshine team.

Known for his work in the ’20s and ’30s in New York, Emery Roth created some of the most beloved—and now historic—residential properties on Manhattan’s Upper West Side: He had his hands on the El Dorado, The Beresford, The San Remo, and plenty more projects across the city. One such building is 720 West End Avenue, a 17-story structure built in 1927. Newly reimagined as luxury residential condos by Glacier Equities, InterVest Capital Partners, and designer Thomas Juul-Hansen, sales for the building’s 131 residences have officially launched.

Units in the building will range from one- to five-bedrooms, with the largest homes clocking in above 3,700 square feet. Boffi custom kitchens, white oak flooring, and integrated lighting will appear in each home. The building will have roughly 30,000 square feet of amenity space, with a fitness center, sports simulator/VR room, and coworking spaces among the many planned offerings. Prices start at approximately $1 million, with top residences priced above $12 million.

“Discerning buyers in today’s market are looking for the pinnacle of city living combining authentic character with modern conveniences, and we expect 720 West End Avenue to exceed all expectations,” Tricia Hayes Cole, the executive managing director of Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, which is handling sales exclusively, said in a statement shared with AD PRO.
